Message From the President

Dear HRMA Members,

As 2017 draws to a close, I wanted to thank all of you for your contributions during this fantastic year! This has been a banner year for HRMA - one that was certainly worthy of our 75th Anniversary Celebration! At the outset of the year, I challenged all of our leaders to think creatively about what they wanted to accomplish in 2017.
Here is how HRMA responded:
  • We held our largest conference to-date with over 530 attendees
  • We launched a regional marketing campaign to expose HRMA to professionals and businesses outside of the HR field
  • Our Young Professionals conducted our first "How to Get a Job in HR" for recent college graduates
  • We were recognized as a National SHRM Pinnacle Award finalist
  • We conducted the first annual "Missouri HR Day of Service" and received proclamations from St. Louis City and St. Louis County recognizing our efforts for our community
  • We published our first "Taste of Teambuilding Cookbook and Member Directory" whose proceeds will go to the SHRM Foundation and HRMA Certification initiatives
  • We re-launched our SHRM Certification Prep classes
  • We conducted our first HR Specific Salary & Benefits Survey
  • We archived our 75 year history as an organization and began documenting our rich history in St. Louis
None of thse would have been possible without all of you. The leadership and spirit of volunteerism amongst our membership ensures that HRMA will continute to be one of the premier SHRM chapters in the country. I cannot wait to see what our 2018 President, Linda Pipitone, has in store for us next year!

It has been a pleasure being at the helm of this wonderful organization this year and I am so grateful for the opportunity! Thank you!

John Marino
2017 President
HRMA of Greater St. Louis
