Message From the President

Greetings HRMA (SHRM STL) Members! Hope you are all adapting to the very abrupt arrival of summer in St. Louis! We were all hoping for warmer weather not long ago, but of course, in true St. Louis style, we did not get to ease into it! It's hard to believe that it is June already, and we will soon be halfway through our program year!
We are working on a new logo for our name change, and we hope to unveil it soon. We are also working very diligently on the October conference. The speaker lineup promises to be a great program, and you will see promotional information in the very near future. The Program Committee has done an excellent job this year in bringing very relevant topics and engaging speakers. Just a reminder that the summer programs will be held at the Clayton Plaza Hotel.

In January this year, on behalf of HRMA, I signed the St. Louis Regional (Chamber) Commitment to Education. It is an initiative endorsed by local educational institutions, business leaders and associations such as HRMA to provide and support resources that accelerate success for people pursuing higher education. The program is a cross-sector commitment to see St. Louis become one of the Top 10 most educated regions by 2025. The Chamber is working on its Gateway to Degrees phase of the program, and the article below provides statistics related to the importance of an educated workforce and the value of tuition reimbursement programs. I hope you take the time to read it.

If you have any thoughts, comments or ideas that you would like to share, please don't hesitate to contact any of your Board Members.

I look forward to seeing you all soon! We're "Going the Distance!"
