It's been over a decade since there was a divided Congress, yet the 116th Congress and Trump Administration need to address many HR public policy issues impacting work, workers and the workplace. These include initiatives to address workers' rights and workforce development; proposals on workplace equity; efforts on workplace immigration, including employment verification; and proposals to expand paid leave and workplace flexibility. Hear how SHRM is engaging on these priority issues to deliver Better Workplaces, Better World. Learn how you can get involved with SHRM and policy makers on these important issues to elevate HR!

About Our Speaker
As Vice President Policy Engagement, Lisa oversees SHRM's public policy initiatives on Capitol Hill on issues important to the HR profession. She is responsible for implementing direct lobbying and member advocacy campaigns to influence HR public policy. As a respected Washington Insider, Lisa has led several employer coalition efforts on key workplace issues.

Since joining SHRM in 2004, Lisa has served as the organization's lobbyist on public policy issues on Capitol Hill that impact the human resource profession. Prior to joining SHRM, Lisa worked for the U.S. House of Representatives as a staff member to two different Members of Congress. A native Nebraskan, Lisa began her career as a senatorial aid in the Nebraska Legislature, while completing a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
