Corporate Director Human Resources

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Plan, organize, lead, and direct the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources Department for SIHF Healthcare. Oversee the Corporate Benefits and Payroll department for SIHF Healthcare and affiliates as relevant. Responsible for all insurance activity for SIHF Healthcare and affiliated organizations including but not limited to property, Directors and Officers, medical malpractice, commercial auto and umbrella coverage.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Respond to requests from the Board of Directors, CEO, VP’s, Directors, department managers and employees.
  • Supervise the SIHF Healthcare Human Resources Department staff to include coaching, feedback, development and performance evaluations.
  • Oversee the Corporate Benefits and Payroll functions.
  • Actively involved in the strategic and tactical administration of all benefit programs including medical, dental, life insurance, short term disability, long term disability, EAP and supplemental insurance program.
  • Act as a trustee and provide strategic support to the 401(k) plan. Manage the Investment Advisor and plan administrator.
  • Responsible for facilitating insurance programs for SIHF Healthcare and affiliate organizations including applications, data gathering and coverage recommendations.
  • Serve as a conduit between the insurance broker and the organization.
  • Responsible for administration and consultation on any claims either against the organization or in an effort to recoup damages to the organization.
  • Provide functional guidance to all SIHF Healthcare employees; including career counseling, compensation, interpersonal relations, dispute resolution and benefits information.
  • Administer Human Resources programs and employment practices that are within the parameters of the federal, state and local employment laws. Ensure all programs are within guidelines of anti-discrimination policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for EPLS compliance and non-provider credentialing as well as UDS participation. Active participation in any federal, state or local federal mandates that require HR involvement.
  • Maintain and implement SIHF Healthcare Personnel policies and procedures. Prepare and maintain electronic employee handbook.
  • Oversee the compensation programs within SIHF Healthcare to include salary survey participation, salary adjustments and compensation programs. Evaluate and revise job descriptions and performance evaluations as necessary.
  • Plan, organize and control special programs with SIHF Healthcare to include but not limited to service awards, Employee Appreciation Week and Above and Award.
  • Conduct recruitment efforts for all exempt and non-exempt personnel and temporary employees. Responsible for new employee orientation.
  • Provide counsel and support in all employee relations counseling, discipline and employee disputes limiting potential litigation or state or federal intervention. Provide leadership and support if any reductions in force or outsourcing occurs.
  • Develop and deliver Human Resources related teaching.

Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Management, Insurance or a related field is required. Master of Business Administration degree preferred. Ten to fifteen years of Human Resources experience in all HR disciplines with increasing management responsibility is required. Working knowledge of insurance programs is essential.
